The Centre for Continuing Education in Bialystok – CKU (Centrum Kształcenia Ustawicznego w Białymstoku) was set up in 2005 as a public school which provides opportunity for gaining and completing general knowledge as well as professional skills and qualifications. It is a general and vocational school for adults situated in the Northern-East part of Poland, in disadvantaged area where there are a lot of unemployed people. CKU provides high quality continuing education and lifelong learning opportunities for personal enrichment, career advancement or professional development. We have almost 900 adult people as our students. We are one of the leading adult education organisations in Podlasie region.As a public body, we work closely with a wide network of local, regional and national partners, such as: municipalities, ministries, regional development agencies, chamber of commerce and industry, chamber of crafts, other adult education organisations, primary and secondary schools, higher education institutes and faculties, NGOs, enterprises, etc. Based on our project work, we cooperate with a network of international partners.

We will take responsibility together with all partners in the development of the project. CKU will act as a coordinator.
CKU is well known institution that provides adult education and support. We organize different kind of trainings for adults. We aim to develop adult's creativity and help them to use modern ways of communication and express themselves. That's why our institution is interested to work with the storytelling method. Our institution has well eqipped dydactic base (IT laboratories), where adults will increase IT skills.
CKU has experience in project management funded by the European Commission, especially Leonardo Da Vinci, Grundtvig (Lifelong Learning Programme).
In this project we will involve members of the staff with a lot of experience in adult education.
